Australian born baritone Byron Watson was on full scholarship at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Opera School of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and has a career in both opera and musical theatre.
In 2011 Byron has made his debut with the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, and returns to Australia to make his debut with the State Opera of South Australia. Other engagements include the principal roles with the Young Vic Theatre Company, London, engagements with the Northern Sinfonia, ROH2 for the Royal Opera House. He has sung in Olso, Portugal, Canada, and has toured nationally in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
Whilst playing his own roles in productions for Opera Australia, he has understudied Richard E Grant and Anthony Warlow, and made his film and television debut in Tomorrow La Scala, a BBC feature film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

In January 2012 Byron will be presenting a program called 'Summer Love' with acclaimed soprano Helen Barnett and pianist Simon Kenway. The concert is a journey about falling in love through well-known song, opera and musical theatre repertoire. Please download the program here.
