The Song Company’s repertoire covers vocal music from the 10th century to the present day and is unique in its stylistic diversity. It is one of the world's leading vocal ensembles and creates innovative programs that cross the old divide between high-art and low-brow and old/new.

The Company presents musical experiences to audiences throughout Australia and overseas ranging from early music, to cabaret, a fully developed music education program for school children, workshops and a program of specially commissioned contemporary vocal works.

It gives approximately 130 performances each year. It travels to Europe for prestigious music festivals, to Asia for performances and workshops and to America. As Australia's only full time professional vocal ensemble, the Song Company includes highly experienced singers, led by internationally acclaimed artistic director, Roland Peelman, who perform innovative, inspired and diverse music.

The six-voice ensemble integrates serious scholarship, tonal clarity, vocal daring and unbridled performance dynamics. The group is equally at home in medieval songs and chants, 16th century polyphony, and 20th century classics.
