“Both these players have the potential to conquer the world.” The Times, London

“It’s a question of alchemy. We follow the same instincts and musical lines... we trust each other, and it works!” says Cédric Tiberghien.

The electrifying musical partnership of Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien has swiftly secured its reputation as the most accomplished and popular of duos, the pairs’ joie de vivre captivating audiences worldwide. What unites them most is simplicity and naturalness of musical line.

Born in Russia and trained at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in England, Ibragimova is an artist of outstanding sensitivity and formidable technical command. Tiberghien, born and educated in France, has established an impressive international career dividing his time evenly between chamber music, solo recitals and concerto performances.

The two young artists met through the BBC’s New Generation Artists scheme and quickly discovered an unmistakable shared chemistry. They have unique approaches when preparing music for the first time. For Tiberghien, the source of musical inspiration is contemporary visual art. “You can learn more about Bach from an avant-garde painting than from an historical treatise.” Ibragimova credits literature, exhibitions, films and people as informing her interpretations. “It’s about structure, about getting the whole picture. Music isn’t just about learning notes.”

This is the duo’s first Australian concert tour.
