Dynamic Greek and Latin American music

Akoustic Odyssey is a dynamic world music quartet inspired by traditional Greek and Latin American music. They will take you on a journey, an odyssey, through rock, baroque, Latin, jazz and Mediterranean music. Performing original compositions, this Adelaide-based group uses an original blend of instruments and musical flavours. The diverse range of influences and styles, the depth and breadth of their experience, and their individual commitment to their art, make the band more than the sum of its parts.

Journey to the Mediterranean is a Live Performance Plus performance.

Live Performance Plus offers the unique experience of Live Performance by a professional music ensemble at your school, supported by professional development for teachers plus resources for teaching music in your classrooms.

The Professional Development is a three hour session held in a venue close to a number of participating schools.

The Teaching Resources incorporate a variety of activities related to the music of the live performance ensemble, which together can create a term of lessons. The resources link to literacy, numeracy and ICT for all ages from lower primary through to junior secondary. Also included are an audio CD with the ensemble’s music, activities and support materials.

In 2012 Live Performance Plus will include NEW interactive resources for the digital classroom. These resources are cross-platform and will operate on interactive whiteboards, or on computers and with data projectors. They are complimentary to the existing resources and provide engaging activities for your students understanding as well as quality teaching.
