TURNING WORLD'S AROUND
performed by The Chambermaids

Five fabulous wacky winds

All-female wind quintet, The Chambermaids, bring to life the wind instrument family in a fun and informative performance that will engage and inspire students. One of Australia’s premiere chamber music groups, their repertoire ranges from the classics through to contemporary music. They play on instruments both familiar and foreign, ranging from flute, piccolo, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn to a noisy hosepipe horn.

Students will come away from the performance with a genuine appreciation of the instruments and the musical styles.

Turning World's Around is a Live Performance Plus performance.

Live Performance Plus offers the unique experience of Live Performance by a professional music ensemble at your school, supported by professional development for teachers plus resources for teaching music in your classrooms.

The Professional Development is a three hour session held in a venue close to a number of participating schools.

The Teaching Resources incorporate a variety of activities related to the music of the live performance ensemble, which together can create a term of lessons. The resources link to literacy, numeracy and ICT for all ages from lower primary through to junior secondary. Also included are an audio CD with the ensemble’s music, activities and support materials.

In 2012 Live Performance Plus will include NEW interactive resources for the digital classroom. These resources are cross-platform and will operate on interactive whiteboards, or on computers and with data projectors. They are complimentary to the existing resources and provide engaging activities for your students understanding as well as quality teaching.
