A dynamic performance of Indonesian music and dance
Enter the exciting world of Indonesia through the music of traditional Javanese and Balinese instruments. Three musicians will showcase a number of musical styles focusing on melodic percussion and rhythm, performing a repertoire of both original and traditional musical pieces.
Students will be fascinated by the exotic instruments such as the Sundanese Kendang, Angklung, Rebana as well as the Javanese and Balinese Gamelan. This hour long performance also features Indonesian masked dance.
Makukuhan consists of three Indonesian musicians. Their name comes from the ancient Javanese legend which explains the origin of rice.
