Contemporary World Music Quartet
The expert musicians of Sirocco, including a Chinese flautist, present a unique, exciting and fascinating view of Asia. Their exotic instruments include Chinese and Celtic flutes, Irish drums and Asian percussion, ouds and jaw harps. The musicians mix modern electronics with these ancient instruments – just as in modern Asia.
Sirocco has performed across Asia in China, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Eastern Russia, Tibet, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea. This unique knowledge and experience gives audiences a real taste of Asia and Australia.
The group has a fundamental appreciation of the variety and depth of the music of Asia and its creative potential for Australia.
Andrew de Teliga – violin, guitar, ch’in
