The World According to James produces that undeniably ‘cool’ sound that jazz is famous for; smooth, toe-tappin’ and finger-snappin’. Fronted by Australia’s leading Jazz trombonist, James Greening, this quartet is one of Australia’s most respected Jazz groups. The band takes students from the rainforests of Australia to the streets of Buenos Aires, exploring every style from free Jazz to modern tango along the way. It’s a Small Big World offers real opportunities for students to get creative; they’ll tango, play body percussion and help the group create improvised compositions.  Never before has teaching music been so groovy!

It's a Big Small World is a Live Performance Plus performance.

Live Performance Plus offers the unique experience of Live Performance by a professional music ensemble at your school, supported by professional development for teachers plus resources for teaching music in your classrooms.

The Professional Development is a three hour session held in a venue close to a number of participating schools.

The Teaching Resources incorporate a variety of activities related to the music of the live performance ensemble, which together can create a term of lessons. The resources link to literacy, numeracy and ICT for all ages from lower primary through to junior secondary. Also included are an audio CD with the ensemble’s music, activities and support materials.

In 2012 Live Performance Plus will include NEW interactive resources for the digital classroom. These resources are cross-platform and will operate on interactive whiteboards, or on computers and with data projectors. They are complimentary to the existing resources and provide engaging activities for your students understanding as well as quality teaching.
