Mornington Peninsula: Rosebud West

The response at Mornington when we all sang was wonderful. Many people came and thanked us for our singing.

Following the success of the first singing workshop program held at Rosebud during 2010, Musica Viva Australia and Mornington Peninsula Shire are pleased to announce that Musica Viva’s innovative singing workshop for seniors, Viva Voices, is coming to Rosebud West.

The Viva Voices program will involve 20 weeks of singing workshops for those aged 60 and over, culminating in a performance by participants for family and friends to celebrate their achievements. Each workshop is two hours long (including a coffee break), and will take place on Wednesdays from 10am - 12pm at The Village Glen, 335 Eastbourne Rd, Rosebud West commencing on Wednesday 29 June.

Participants don’t have to be able to sing, read music. You just need to be willing to give it a go, and have fun!

Participants are asked to take part in a study that is running alongside the program, which is investigating whether participation in the workshops has any effect on health and well-being.

To register your interest in participating, please contact the Project Officer, Erin Moore on 03 5950 1617 or email Erin.Moore@mornpen.vic.gov.au.

The Rosebud Viva Voices project is supported by the Australia Council, the Australian Government's arts funding and advisory body, through the Music Board and Community Partnerships section.

Seeing the joy on faces when our goals had been reached and the bonding of the singers was a soul experience.
