Huntington Estate Music Festival

The 21st Anniversary Festival will be held Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 November 2010

The 2009 Huntington Estate Music Festival was a great success.

Patrons of the Festival have already provided comments like:

“as inveterate attendees at music festivals, this recent one at Huntington stands out with the best”.

Every artist attracted glowing responses from the audience, but none more so than Chinese-Australian cellist Li-Wei, magnificent in sonatas by Britten and Beethoven, and young Sydney-born, London-based tenor Andrew Goodwin, a new discovery for many attendees, and who garnered thunderous applause for his performances of songs by Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Rakhmaninov and Vaughan Williams.

Roger Covell’s review in the Sydney Morning Herald was full of praise for the event:

"A long life for the second version of the 20-year-old Huntington Music Festival, which has Musica Viva's resources in chamber music partnering Tim Stevens as cheerful proprietor and host, seems assured by the size of this year's gathering.

In the first of eight concerts, the audience appeared to fill the music-friendly Barrel Room and the performances of masterly works from four sets of performers warranted their numbers and enthusiasm."

Artist and program highlights for the 21st Anniversary Festival will be announced in February 2010, with tickets going on general sale in April. To secure your place for this year's Festival, please contact Huntington Estate. Huntington Estate.
