Amadeus Society

The Amadeus Society is a group of esteemed individuals in Sydney and Melbourne who have joined together to support the extraordinary artistic initiatives of Musica Viva Australia.

The dream is to build an Artistic Initiatives Fund which will help secure tours to Australia by otherwise unattainable stellar international artists.  The Amadeus Society membership contributes directly to this Artistic Initiatives Fund which is drawn upon every 2-3 years at the discretion of Musica Viva's Artistic Director. In 2011 the Amadeus Society will sponsor the national tour of Sabine Meyer and the Modigliani String Quartet.

What you can Expect?

The experience for members of the Amadeus Society is that of an intimate musical dialogue between an audience of discerning individuals and the finest chamber artists.  Two to three times a year, exclusive salon concerts are held in the homes of Amadeus Society members most often featuring international artists visiting Australia as guests of Musica Viva.  Each performance is approximately 40 minutes long and the artists stay for afternoon tea with the members.  Additionally, Society members can expect special recognition and opportunities to engage with artists visiting Australia under the support of the Artistic Initiatives Fund.  The Musica Viva Amadeus Society is envisioned as a musical dialogue between an audience of discerning individuals and the finest chamber music artists through an annual salon series of three concerts in members’ homes. Salon performances are approximately 40 minutes long followed by afternoon tea or supper with the artists.
