Music and Play

Unlock the Joy of Music & Play

Research shows that music is fundamental in early childhood education helping children develop logic skills, problem solving and enhanced language acquisition.

What are the benefits of music and play in the primary classroom? How can we integrate music and play into the curriculum and busy school day? Simply bring your curiosity and willingness to play and try creative activities. This workshop focuses on music and movement, storytelling through music and play, singing and listening activities.

This workshop is aimed at the generalist teacher and music specialist.

  • engage in a variety of activities involving listening, chanting, singing, playing and moving
  • explore music and play as a basis for creativity, self-expression, connection and communication in your classroom
  • explore social, emotional and other skills developed in a musical setting
  • discover ways that music can support vocabulary development, focus and listening  through play
  • scaffold activities from simple to more complex
