Music and Wellbeing

Music and Wellbeing

Our Professional Development workshops give you the confidence and tools to deliver music lessons in the classroom. Covering basic elements from the F-10 music curriculum, you will develop skills, ideas, and activities for immediate use. All events are designed for both generalist classroom teachers and music specialists.

Research shows that the musical experience has a significant positive impact on health and wellbeing. This workshop will explore the power of music to support both physical and mental health in the classroom with engaging activities and creative processes that nurture a sense of wellbeing, inclusivity and resilience. No prior music experience necessary.

At this workshop you will:

  • discover the value of music in fostering wellbeing, resilience and connection
  • engage in a variety of practical activities involving singing, playing, moving and making music
  • explore the impact of creative processes on fostering a healthy mindset and developing critical and creative learners
