Help cellists get to the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (MICMC)
Did you know cellos need their own airplane seat to safely travel?
We are bringing 14 incredible groups of young musicians to Melbourne for the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (MICMC) in 2023 and need your help to support the cellists and cellos so they can safely arrive in Melbourne.
Each flight taken by a cellist costs double as they have to pay for an extra seat to safely bring their cellos with them. This is especially true on long-haul international flights where the delicate instruments would not survive in the hold of the aircraft.
We are seeking 14 Cello Champions for MICMC 2023. It costs $5000 to support a return flight for a cello and become a Cello Champion, and your contribution can be made individually or in a group.
