Chopin's Piano with Aura Go
A message from Artistic Director Paul Kildea:
In April last year I met up with my old friend, the actor and director Richard Pyros. I was completely reprogramming Musica Viva’s 2021 season and had a proposition for him: let’s create a first-person present-tense theatre/music piece out of a book I had written a few years earlier. Our tour of Chopin’s Piano, bringing together the outstanding talents of pianist Aura Go and actor Susan Prior – alongside a handful of creatives – was the outcome, a narrative and musical tale about the piano on which Chopin wrote a number of major works, the Preludes among them.
It’s with a heavy heart that we will shift this tour from November 2021 to a future season instead. We are however excited to announce our plans to make a beautiful film of a most intriguing and captivating story, punctuated by Aura’s reading of Chopin’s twenty-four Preludes.
