If you are no longer able to attend or have any other queries, please contact the Box Office on 1800 688 482 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm AEST) or via email at boxoffice@musicaviva.com.au to discuss alternative arrangements.
Described by Limelight Magazine as “a soloist of superb virtuosic skill and musicality”, pianist Alex Raineri is known internationally as a passionate recitalist, concerto and soloist, performing across the US, Asia, Europe and Australia.
For this concert, Raineri partners the fast-rising soprano Sofia Troncoso, a 2021 Opera Queensland Young Artist who has been making a name for herself both in Australia and abroad. Like Raineri, Troncoso is an exceptionally versatile artist, equally at home in early and contemporary music. Recent highlights include a “charming and witty” Papagena in Magic Flute for Scottish Opera and a celebrated debut with Longborough Festival Opera in the title role of Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione de Poppea.
Raineri and Troncoso are joined by flautist Patrick Nolan, another Brisbane musician whose contributions to the city’s musical life have been vast. Previously the principal flute of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, he was a founding member of The Lunaire Collective and Aesther Ensemble.
Together, they will perform a program of arias and songs by Bellini, Doppler, Hahn, Roussel, Emmanuel, Debussy, Ravel, as well as works for piano by Chopin and Szymanowski.
