How do we collect your personal information?

In order to provide quality service, Musica Viva Australia offers customers the ability to purchase tickets, book schools concerts and make philanthropic donations through four channels:

  • Our box office provides telephone, fax, email and mail services for ticketing, subscriptions, school education program bookings and donations;
  • Our development department provides telephone, fax and mail services for donations;
  • In person sales and donations are available through the box office; and
  • Our website provides an online sales and donation channel.

Musica Viva Australia also provides an e-newsletter, conducts competitions and communicates with customers through various online and electronic media.

These channels reflect the various methods in which Musica Viva collects personal information about customers. Collection of information will occur at the time you provide information to Musica Viva.

For what purposes do we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information?

We collect personal information about you so that we can perform our business activities and functions and to provide best possible quality of customer service.

  • process and manage your purchase, schools booking or donation;
  • process your transaction under the terms of our credit card merchant agreements governing credit card transactions;
  • contact you if we have difficulties with your transaction;
  • contact you if events change;
  • contact you regarding donations to Musica Viva;
  • send you your tickets via mail;
  • send you confirmation about your ticket booking, via email or fax;
  • send you a receipt for your donation to Musica Viva;

  • send out Musica Viva newsletters and fundraising news by email, if you have elected to receive them;

To whom may we disclose your information?

We may disclose your personal information to:

If Musica Viva Australia provides your personal performance-related information to venues, agencies, sponsors or other third parties we require these organisations to agree to comply with our Privacy Policy and with strict conditions and applicable laws governing how personal information is to be handled. Information relating to a donation to Musica Viva will not be shared with any third party, unless otherwise agreed by the donor.

Musica Viva will not otherwise trade, sell or rent personal information about our customers to or with third parties.

Direct marketing materials

We may send you direct marketing communications and information about our products and services that we consider may be of interest to you. These communications may be sent in various forms, including mail, SMS, fax and email, in accordance with applicable marketing laws, such as the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can request the personal information we hold about you by contacting us by one of the methods listed at the end of this Privacy Policy. There is no fee for making such requests and we will endeavour to make your information available within 28 days of the initial request. Musica Viva Australia reserves the right to confirm your identity before providing you with this information.

Musica Viva Australia takes reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect and use is complete, relevant and up-to-date. However, the accuracy of the personal information we receive depends to a large extent on the information you provide. We recommend you let us know if there are any errors in your personal information by contacting us directly.

Storage and security of your details

Musica Viva Australia uses appropriate measures to secure your personal information. We store your information in a CRM database, Tessitura.

All of your ticketing and donation information - including your name, address and credit card number - is encrypted using a secure server for maximum security. Your order (including credit card information) is cleared from our web site daily and is not stored by Musica Viva Australia on our web site. Credit card transactions are handled by the appropriate box offices, which process the transaction.

When you visit our web site, you may occasionally be directed to other sites outside our service (eg. an online bookstore or CD merchant). These other sites are not subject to our Privacy Policy and we are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third-party sites, or for the use of any information that these sites may collect. If you want to prevent one of these third-party companies from sending and reading cookies on your computer, you must contact each company's web site individually and request that they cease such activity.
