Nurturing talent, nationwide

The 2024 Coaching Program marked a significant step forward in accessibility, reach and impact of the Strike A Chord program. 73 groups across Australia received free coaching sessions, each delivered by a Musica Viva Australia-affiliated artist. These sessions focused on ensemble listening, communication, shaping phrases together and building performance confidence.

The program continued its commitment to equity by prioritising regional schools, low-ICSEA communities and groups with at least one First Nations identifying student. Many participants were new to chamber music, and teachers reported noticeable growth in musicianship and cohesion after just one session.
