Hands-On Percussion - Larapinta

This interactive workshop equips educators with practical, engaging ways to incorporate percussion into everyday classroom learning. Participants will explore body percussion, untuned classroom instruments, and found sounds to support rhythm, listening skills, collaboration, and creativity. 

Designed for generalist and specialist teachers alike, the workshop focuses on accessible strategies that require minimal resources and can be adapted across year levels. Through modelling, participation, and guided practice, participants will leave with ready-to-implement activities that build confidence in teaching music and rhythm.

At this workshop you will:

• clap, stomp and play your way through a series of accessible and interactive activities
• explore beat, rhythm and other musical elements
• scaffold activities from simple to more complex
• discover accessible percussion activities to improve concentration, coordination, listening and group work
