Julia Potter
Julia Potter is a Sydney-based screen and art music composer. She seeks to create music which transports the listener to a suspended reality and moment in time.
In 2021 Julia participated in the Ensemble Offspring Hatched Academy and in 2022 was accepted into the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Cybec and Omega Ensemble CoLAB Programs for young composers. Her work has been performed by ensembles including the Penny Quartet, Syzygy Ensemble, Australian Youth Orchestra, and Melbourne University Symphony Orchestra. Her music for the documentary Acts for the Invisible was featured at Sydney Film Festival, St Kilda Film Festival, and Mardi Gras Film Festival.
In 2019 Julia was the recipient of the Melbourne Recital Centre/Melbourne Conservatorium of Music graduate commission.
Julia’s new work will be premiered by Claire Edwardes for Sydney Morning Masters.
