London-based musicians and long-term collaborators Fred Thomas and Alice Zawadzki perform an intimate program of the songs of Franz Schubert. Step into a modern Shubertiade to hear a “simpler way” of delivering song including beloved favourites such as Death and the Maiden alongside lesser-known jewels and the Romantic poetry of Schubert’s friends and contemporaries. Ancient Greek theatre inspired a gathering of musicians, poets and intellectuals in Florence in the late 16th century to create the dramatic new musical form of Opera, incorporating music, poetry, theatre and visual arts.
