With a 20-year portfolio career in Music Education, Katie Hull-Brown has made significant contributions by connecting with families, preschools, and primary school communities to facilitate active music-making and provide explicit teacher mentoring. Her work highlights the power of arts learning and the impact of comprehensive teacher support. 

Katie's formative training in Teaching and Orff Schulwerk pedagogy, combined with her family’s passion for music, has fuelled a diverse career in education, curriculum development, community engagement, and arts learning leadership. Her career highlights include lecturing in arts education at Melbourne Polytechnic and serving as the National Arts Learning Manager at The Song Room. She is currently the president of the Victorian Orff Schulwerk Association, presenting nationally at the Music In Me 2024 Summit and internationally at the NZ Facilitator’s Network 2023 conference. 

Katie is the Creative Director of Tuned In Music, providing preschool music classes called Musical Generations, which include the elderly, and leading the KIDS (Kids in Darebin Sing) Choir. She worked with the late Richard Gill in his Mentoring Program and received a scholarship to attend the 2017 Orff Schulwerk Summer School in Salzburg, Austria. Additionally, she has taught in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Pizzicato Effect community outreach program and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra’s 2020 Summer School and has contributed to curriculum development for Musica Viva and mentoring The Song Room. 

Katie is currently studying Mental Health for Education. She completed her Master's in Education in 2023 and, in 2021, she completed Leadership Victoria’s Williamson Leadership Program on a scholarship.
