Enigma Quartet

PIER PAVILION, BANGAROO

From their formative student days busking on the streets of Sydney to national and international concert and festival performances, this year marks the 20 year anniversary of Enigma’s contribution to the Australian classical music scene. Comprised of established artists in their own right - they now welcome internationally acclaimed violist Tahlia Petrosian to the ensemble. The quartet have collaborated with a range of artists, notably commissioning ten new Australian works with shakuhachi master Riley Lee for their Five Elements project. In addition to broadcasts for ABC Sunday Live and Musica Viva Australia Coffee Concerts, they have recorded and performed alongside contemporary artists including three albums for Passenger, whose song ‘Let Her Go’ has reached almost three billion streams on Spotify, placing it in the top 100 played songs on the service.

This is a free event, no booking required.

Experience the magic of music at Nocturne, a free four-week concert series in the stunning Pier Pavilion. From 3 to 25 July, talented Sydney musicians will perform contemporary chamber music and innovative classical interpretations in a unique waterfront setting.

Curated by Musica Viva Australia, performances take place every Friday and Saturday evening against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
