FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Every booking through the Musica Viva Australia In Schools program includes access to our Education Resource Platform. Once booked, a school has ongoing access to the resources so teachers can use them year after year. The platform offers comprehensive support for classroom and specialist teachers, with engaging, curriculum-aligned learning activities that connect directly to each show.
The resources include detailed concert guides, musician bios, repertoire insights, Visual Stories, Cultural Protocol Statements, and cross-curricular integration ideas; all designed to enrich your teaching and your students’ learning experience.
Our current platform has served us well for many years, but it’s time for an upgrade. The new platform will offer a more modern and user-friendly experience while continuing to provide access to the high-quality, curriculum-aligned teaching resources that educators rely on. We are undertaking this upgrade in consultation with specialist educators, ensuring that the platform continues to meet teachers' needs.
Yes! Resources that schools currently use will be moved across to the new platform. We understand how valuable these materials are, and ensuring a smooth transition is our top priority.
Please note, that as part of the ongoing, regular review of all our digital learning content, we may adjust the resources for older shows to keep them up to date or retire content that is no longer fit for purpose. If you find you are missing anything from older digital learning resources, please contact your state team and we can send you the files.
You’ll still have access to all your past bookings in the new platform, and your login details haven’t changed (you’ll just need to reset your password the first time).
All current show resources will be available from launch. Resources for older, non-touring shows will be available for the commencement of Term 4 2025, so if you don’t see something right away, it’s on the way.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this process – and if you urgently need a specific resource in the meantime, please reach out to your state team and we’ll do our best to help.
Your existing login email will remain the same, however you will be sent a password reset email to access the new platform.
You can change your password by clicking the ‘Change Password’ link on the login screen of the Education Resource Platform.
The overall process will remain the same, but the new platform will offer an improved user experience including tablet compatibility. We’ll provide clear guidance and support to help you navigate any changes.
We’re here to help! If you encounter any issues, please contact your state team and they will be more than happy to assist.

Yes! Once your school has booked a show, you’ll have ongoing access to the resources linked to that performance, meaning you can revisit them year after year. This allows you to build long-term learning programs and explore music education at your own pace. We recommend using a shared staff email or one that can be accessed by multiple teachers so your team can continue to benefit from the resources even if staff members change.
Yes – within your school. A booking gives your entire school access to the Education Resource Platform, including all learning activities, videos, student materials and support documents for the show you’ve booked.
However, as this content is licensed and copyright protected, it cannot be shared with individuals or schools who haven’t booked the program. This ensures the integrity of our program and allows us to continue providing high-quality, curriculum-aligned resources.
We make all of our resource materials – including PDFs, videos, and audio files downloadable, so you can access and use them regardless of internet speed or connectivity at your school. When you navigate into a show’s resource on the platform, you’ll find the downloadable content clearly listed in the right-hand side panel.
For detailed instructions on how to download your resources read our instructions here.
If you have any trouble downloading files or accessing specific materials, please don’t hesitate to contact your state team.
Access to the Education Resource Platform is linked to the school that booked the show, not individual staff members. This means the school retains ongoing access to the resources in perpetuity, even if staff change.
If you're moving schools, you’ll no longer be able to access your previous school’s resources, but your new school can gain access by booking a Musica Viva In Schools show. We recommend using a shared or generic staff email when registering, so the account can be easily transferred or accessed by new staff as needed.
The Soundscaping activity is currently undergoing a refresh to ensure it’s aligned with the updated platform and current best practices. We’re excited to reintroduce this popular feature soon. Thank you for your patience while we work on making it even better. Keep an eye on the platform for updates.
We retired Musicassentials and Musicadventures at the end of 2023, as they are no longer the most up to date material for teachers. This means they may no longer be visible in your user profile in the current or new Education Resource Platform. We have plans to release new standalone content to support you in your teaching, but if you previously had access to these resources and want to get them back again, please contact resourcehelp@musicaviva.com.au and we can assist.
If you have any other questions about the platform upgrade or your current access to the Education Resource Platform, please contact your state team.
