Music in my Suitcase

Celebrate your cultures

Explore how music can be a powerful means to share language and history.

Australians come from many different places. Iconic world music group Mara! will inspire students to listen to and understand each other by sharing music from a diverse array of cultures. Integrating music and dance, Music in my Suitcase gives students the opportunity to explore Australian history and share their own languages during the concert and in the classroom.

"We’ve travelled the globe collecting music, but we’re most excited to share what we learned right here over the back fence. We can’t wait to discover what musical gems you have in your suitcase!"
— Mara Kiek from Music in my Suitcase
"[The musicians] connected with and encouraged a love of music and learning in our students. Celebration of culture is important for us, and we loved that this is such a focus of the show."
