Improvisation Made Easy - For Everyone!

Discover the Power of Musical Improvisation

Our Professional Development workshops give you the confidence and tools to deliver music lessons in the classroom. Covering basic elements from the F-10 music curriculum, you will develop skills, ideas, and activities for immediate use. All events are designed for both generalist classroom teachers and music specialists.

All workshops are curriculum aligned to the relevant State music syllabus and aligned to AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers. Musica Viva Australia is a NESA-recommended provider because we currently run programs that are NESA-accredited.

This PD Webinar is TQI approved for 2 hours.

We make things up everyday as we go about our lives, but what does it mean to improvise in music and what are the benefits? Open to anyone with any level of musical experience. Simply bring your curiosity and willingness to play and try things out in the interactive session combining music, movement and playing!

At this workshop you will:

  • discover accessible entry points into improvisation through voice, movement and percussion
  • explore improvisation as a basis for creativity, self-expression, connection and communication in your classroom
  • appreciate all the ways in which your students (and you) already improvise without realising
  • try simple composition techniques for use in the classroom
"Musica Viva PD has given me so many ideas to refresh my teaching & create new learning experiences for my students."

For many years, Audrey has been involved in mentoring and training teachers in the Orff approach via workshops for local and interstate conferences, through her work in the Levels courses in Australia and Hong Kong and, more recently, via the mentor program run by the Song Room.
