Engage your students through music and dance!

Our Professional Development workshops give you the confidence and tools to deliver music lessons in the classroom. Covering basic elements from the F-10 music curriculum, you will develop skills, ideas, and activities for immediate use. All events are designed for both generalist classroom teachers and music specialists.

All workshops are curriculum aligned to the relevant State music syllabus and aligned to AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers. Musica Viva Australia is a NESA-recommended provider because we currently run programs that are NESA-accredited.

Discover how an active, whole-body approach to music can make learning more engaging, joyful, and meaningful while boosting creativity and confidence. This practical workshop explores how these activities can enhance focus, emotional regulation, creativity and connection in the classroom.

Bring your comfortable clothing and be prepared to clap, stomp and sing your way through this interactive session!

AT THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL:  

  • Discover simple, practical strategies for integrating music and movement

  •  Explore ways to support wellbeing, focus and emotional regulatioN

  • Learn a variety of warmups, songs and movement ideas centred around whole-body engagement.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  

These events are designed for both generalist classroom teachers and music specialists. 

While our resources and PD are primarily aimed at Primary School teachers, all are welcome, including: 

  • primary school teachers 
  • pre-service teachers 
  • school leaders with an interest in music education for primary school students

Ali Dredge



Ali Dredge
has a professional background in dance and drama, with several years of experience as a Performing Arts tutor, workshop facilitator, and choral conductor. Most recently, she worked with the Australian Girls Choir as a tutor, conductor, and Music and Production Coordinator, before moving into her current role as Education Coordinator at Musica Viva Australia. 

Ali is deeply passionate about the transformative role of the arts in education and community development. Her particular interests lie in inclusive performing arts for people with disabilities, as well as community engagement through the arts in rural and remote areas. She has facilitated weekly dance and drama workshops for DAADA (Disability in the Arts, Disadvantage in the Arts, Australia) and led intensive, weeklong performing arts programs in the remote community of Halls Creek through the not-for-profit organisation Girls from Oz. 

In addition to her creative work, Ali brings extensive experience in team leadership, administration, communication, and production management across the performing arts, film, and television industries.
