Monash Strike A Chord Workshop

If you are a school student and play in a chamber ensemble, come and join us in Melbourne for two days of expert coaching, masterclasses, movement and ensemble skills workshops, and a chance to meet fellow musicians.

WHAT IS IT? 

Strike A Chord's Intensive Chamber Music Workshop is a dynamic and interactive two-day program for young musicians looking to share the joy of playing chamber music.  

The workshop takes place Saturday 11 April – Sunday 12 April within the beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities of the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance, Monash University in Melbourne.  

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to school aged chamber ensembles from anywhere in Australia – ensemble members must be enrolled in a full-time Australian school program, including homeschool and distance education.
  • Students may only apply as a pre-formed ensemble (trio, quartet, quintet etc.).
  • Students should be a minimum of AMEB Grade 6 level (or equivalent) on their instrument/voice.
  • Ensembles may comprise any instrumentation (including vocal) and should have 3-8 players without a conductor/adult accompanist.
  • All participants must be signed in/out each day by a responsible adult (teacher, parent, etc).
  • A maximum of 10 ensembles will be selected to attend the Workshop.
