Storytelling Through Music

Music is a wonderful medium through which stories can be created and told.

Our Professional Development workshops give you the confidence and tools to deliver music lessons in the classroom. Covering basic elements from the F-10 music curriculum, you will develop skills, ideas, and activities for immediate use. All events are designed for both generalist classroom teachers and music specialists.

Music is a wonderful medium through which stories can be created and told. In this interactive workshop we explore creative strategies and activities for storytelling in the classroom through a rich variety of musical experiences. No prior music experience necessary.

At this workshop you will:

  • Explore listening and playing activities to bring storytelling to life
  • Engage in creative and practical ideas involving singing, playing and moving to engage and extend students in their learning
  • Use simple composition and notation activities to tell stories
  • Discover opportunities to integrate literacy, drama and other learning areas alongside the musical learning
"Musica Viva PD has given me so many ideas to refresh my teaching & create new learning experiences for my students."
